PBIS at North Mac School District #34
The North Mac School District is committed to the implementation of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support program. By creating an atmosphere of fewer office discipline referrals,there will be increased time for academic instruction. The new district PBIS Committee is developing a process to encourage/celebrate expected behaviors each and everyday by acknowledging students for behaving positively. The purposes of acknowledgments are to reinforce the teaching of new behaviors, encourage the behaviors we want to occur again in the future, harness the influence of the students who are exhibiting expected behaviors to encourage those who are not, and strengthen positive behaviors that can compete with problem behavior. By increasing the time of academic instruction, achievement scores should improve drastically.
