Health Syllabus

Classroom Rules and Expectations

 

Course Description:  Health is a semester long course.  The textbook we will be using is Glencoe Health.  The areas that will be covered in health class are social/emotional health as well as physical health.

Grading Procedures: Grades will be based on the total number of points a student has earned.  Assignments, in class participation, quizzes, tests and projects will be assessed differently.

Grading Scale: The North Mac High School Districts' grading scale will be utilized.

Assignments:  All assignments must be turned in on time.  If you are absent it is your responsibility to ask Mr. Etter for missed assignments or  tests.

Materials:  Students should bring pencils, pens, paper (notebooks), and Health textbooks to class everyday.  Please do not use red ink on assignments that will be turned in.

Classroom Rules

  • Show respect towards others.  Respect yourself, other students, the teacher and school property.
  • Please raise your hand before speaking in class.
  • Be prompt.  When the bell rings students should be seated in their seats.  (Unless asking a question.
  • , sharpening a pencil, or have permission to use the restroom)
  • The tardy policy will be enforced according to the North Mac Student Handbook.
  1. 1st tardy is free
  2. 2nd tardy is a 30 minute detention
  3. 3rd tardy is a referral to the Principal and a Saturday detention.
  • Restroom passes will be issued on emergency situations during class time.  No roaming the hallways.
  • No candy or soft drinks will be allowed in the classroom.
  • Cheating: You and the person who allowed you to copy/cheat from will receive a zero on any given assignment, test and quiz.  If a students has more than one incident he/she will be referred to the Principal.
  • Classroom Misconduct: First misconduct in class, the student will receive a verbal warning.  If the inappropriate behavior continues, the student will receive a detention.  If the misconduct continues or gross misbehavior occurs, the student will be referred to the Principal and the school discipline policy will be enforced.
