During these unprecedented times, we would like to provide some continuity of instruction and learning throughout the school closure.  Below you will find opportunities for students to review and explore new material.  The 6th Grade Team recommend the following activities:

 
Teacher Subject

Memorial Behavioral Health has instituted the Memorial Emotional Support line for children, teens, and adults.  It is staffed with licensed behavioral health providers.  The line is accepting calls between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. seven days a week.  The phone number is 217-588-5509.

Complete i-Ready lessons on your learning path. 4/1, 4/3, 4/6, 4/8, 4/10 (M, W, F) *Do not spend more than 30 minutes per lesson. Pick up where you left off the next time you log in.  https://login.i-ready.com/

Read for 20 minutes a day (M-F). Complete the digital reading log found here: Reading log OR reading log   *You must download and save or make a copy to your own computer for you to edit. Otherwise, we will all be editing and sharing the same document. Email the log at the end of the week or take a picture of it and email it. 

Write every day (journal) (M-F) in your notebook on a topic that you choose. Shoot for a page a day, but if you fall short, that's OK!  I highly encourage you to document this time in your life. You are a part of history.

Complete Unit 2 if haven't done so already, p. 75-139.

From now until the 20th, begin unit 1.  Do p.1-42.  Evidence notebook would be your science notebook or just use paper.  Any hands-on would like to try if have materials, please document outcome and how it went.  Some areas can not do, just read over.

Go to HMH social studies link off school's web page. Go to drop down menu at top left corner. Click on Dimensions E: Earth's water and atmosphere.  Go to unit 2. Scroll down to student ebook.  Click on and that is the actual workbook.  Follow lesson 1-3.  You can not type in answers for me to see so put answers on paper/science notebook.  Any hands-on lab would like to try, document.  Go to lesson 3 self check.  Do not do unit 2 review.

Since this continuing until the 8th, begin unit 1 and proceed as you did above.  This unit is more of a review.  The above unit is a mix of old and new material.
