Here are some great websites that have reading lists and book suggestions:

1.ALA Booklist for 2012. You can also find past ALA books at this site.

2. Newbery Medal and Honor books list

2. Read Kiddo Read is a list of books by age complied by James Patterson, 2010 Children's Choice Author of the year.

3.This website is for the boys!  It is full of categories that most reluctant reader boys will love!  My favorites, "For Little Guys" and "Outer Space, but without aliens!"

4. Scholastic has an extensive lists for parents divided by ages as well as categories ("Cool Books for Hot Summer Days").  Scholastic also offers a Summer Reading Challenge that students or parents can track their minutes reading online or on an iPod or iPhone. Children can be entered to win prizes in the contest.

A few things about 4th Grade:

*Students switch classes daily.  They will go to 4 different teachers during the day.  Students will have all of their homework in their agenda, but the homework will also be on the 4th grade teacher's webpage.

*Your child can bring a water bottle and a healthy snack to enjoy during the day.

*Please check your child's agenda each night.
