- Follow all directions quickly and quietly the first time they are given.
- Raise your hand silently to speak or to leave your seat.
- Be on time and be prepared with ALL materials, every day.
Consequences:
- Verbal Warning
- Change seats/move to hall
- Parent contact
- After school/office detention
··Consequences can and will be skipped for extreme situations··
Student expectations:
Always be prepared for class. Students will need to bring whatever homework/supplies they need to work efficiently during study skills. If something is forgotten or needs to be gotten from a locker, a pass must be used.
I will check grades during study skills at least once per week. This may be more frequent as needed or if any concerns arise.
During the first 20 minutes of study skills, students are expected to work silently and independently at their assigned table.
After the first 20 minutes, I may allow students to collaborate/work together. This must be done quietly without causing distractions.
Students will be allowed one trip to the library a week without using a pass.
I have a shelf of supplies students may use without asking. However, these must be cleaned up and put away before leaving my classroom. Any supplies in my desk area are off limits.
I will give students a copy of my math class procedures brochure. Much of the information applies and the procedures are to be followed during study skills as well.
- Grading information: Students will receive a maximum of 3 points per day. 1 point is for bringing their agenda. 1 point is earned for bringing their self-selected book. 1 point is earned for staying on task/working/the entire period.
