Social Studies

 - How are geography and economy connected in the Midwest? Geography includes land, water, location, and climate and economy is how people in an area make a living. Through you map work you learned about the geography, please highlight the ways people earn a living such as farming, mining, shipping, fishing, forests, service industries, tourism, cattle and dairy, factories, mills, manufacturing, construction, and transportation.  Discuss with an adult how geography and economy are connected in the Midwest.

     A haiku poem only consists of 1 stanza and three lines. The first line can only have 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables, and the third line 5 syllables.  They are actually really fun to write.  Below is an example.

                           Sitting on a lily pad    (7 syllables)
