Hello! My name is Dawn Roesch. I am a Chatham native. I received my Elementary Education degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington and my Masters degree from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville in 2006. My husband and I have a son who is a Conservation Police Officer with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Our daughter is a sophomore studying nursing at SIU-E. My husband retired as Chief Deputy with the Sangamon County Sheriff's Department and is now practicing law in Springfield. We love the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing, gardening, and eating what we harvest. We also spend time kayaking, hiking, riding horses, shooting, and boating.
I started teaching Fourth graders in Virden, August of 1989! I have been teaching Science which is truly my passion since 2000. My goal is to nurture or instill a love of learning and build and develop the skills necessary to be able to seek out answers and discover information on their own. My desire is for all my students to experience Science and Math content in a positive way which will lead to true lifelong learners.
I am truly looking forward to a great year of working with your children.
