A little more about me-

I was born and raised in Virden, Illinois where I attended grade school through high school. I played volleyball and softball, and was also a part of several school clubs such as Student Council, National Honor Society, and Peer Counseling. I went to college at the University of Illinois at Springfield, where I got a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences, with a minor in Elementary K-9 Education and a Middle School Math Endorsement! I did my student teaching in the Fall 2013 at Rochester Intermediate School in a fourth grade classroom. This will be my tenth year in the North Mac School district, where I have taught both fourth and fifth grade! 

Some things I enjoy doing in my spare time are exercising, reading (Harry Potter is my favorite!), being with family, and doing as many activities as I can outside. I have two cats, who always keeps me entertained at home. I am a HUGE animal lover! I love watching sports, especially the NFL (Go Patriots), and also playing in volleyball leagues when I get the chance. I got married summer of 2021, so my name has changed from "Miss Wernsing" to "Mrs. Haukap"! 

I am ready for an AWESOME school year! :)
