Welcome to our 5th grade class!  This will be a year of growth and challenges.  In order to provide the studens with the positive educational experience they deserve, the 5th grade team has developed the following Classroom Management Plan.  I have discussed the plan with the students.  Please discuss it with your child at home.

To keep our classroom and school a safe, organized, and productive place which to learn, the students will be expected to adhere to the PBIS Panther Pride rules:

  1. Be safe.
  2. Be respectful.
  3. Be responsible.

Classroom Rules

1. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.

2.  Treat others as you would want to be treated.

3.  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

4.  Listen quietly to the person speaking.

5. Listen and follow directions the first time given.

6.  Be ready to learn!

If a student chooses to break a rule, they will receive the following consequences:

    Verbal warning

1st strike:  Complete a behavior reflection sheet (loss of 5-10 minutes of recess)

2nd strike:  Teacher's choice of appropriate consequence (possibilities include but are not limited to silent lunch, loss of recess, homework completion during recess, etc.)

    3rd strike:  Parent contact/possible detention

**Severe Clause:  Any student who severely disrupts our classroom learning will be immediately sent to the principal's office, and parents will be notified.

Students who choose to follow the rules may earn the following:

  1. Verbal praise/positive notes
  2. Coupons--These vary from teacher to teacher.
  3. Panther tokens/Panther Pride tickets/Chances to win prizes

We want all of our students at North Mac Intermediate School to have a positive educational experience!
