HS Counselor
My name is Kathreen (Katie) McQueen and I started as a School Counselor for our district in 2008. I was born and raised in this community and graduated from Virden High School in 2001. I received my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology from Illinois College in 2005 and completed my Master's of Arts Degree in Human Developmental Counseling from the University of Illinois-Springfield in 2008. I currently hold a licensure for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well.
My main goal as a School Counselor is to help students feel safe and secure while at school and encourage all students to do his or her best academically. I can help students with career planning, goal setting and personal counseling, whether it be academic, social or emotional.
