BOARD MEMBER VACANCY
The North Mac Board of Education is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Board.
Qualifications to serve as a member of the Board of Education include:
· Residing within sub-District #6
· Being at least 18 years of age
· Being a resident of the school district for at least one year
· Being a registered voter
The individual selected will serve on the School Board from the date of appointment until the next Consolidated Election held on April 6th, 2027.

A Letter of Interest and Resume should be turned in to the Unit Office, 525 N. Third Street, Girard, Illinois 62640 marked ATTN: Drew Christopher, Board President, no later than June 30th, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

Qualifications
Applicants must be a resident of Sub-district #6 of the North Mac School District. Boundaries for Sub-district #6 are available on the District Map located under the Resources tab at www.northmacschools.org.
Applicants also must be
· a United States citizen
· at least 18 years of age
· a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
· a registered voter
Applicants may NOT
· be a child sex offender
· hold another incompatible public office
· not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District (Information regarding Conflict of Interest available at
www.iasb.com/law/conflict.cfm)
· not be a school trustee
· not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment

Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. The Board’s policies are available on the District’s website at

Application Process
1. The Notice of Vacancy will be published in the local newspaper and posted on the District website.
2. Interested and qualified candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to the Unit Office located at 525 N. Third Street, Girard, Illinois 62640 marked ATTN: Drew Christopher, Board President no later than June 30th, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
3. The Board will review applicants and select those applicants it wishes to interview in Closed Session.
4. The Board will conduct interviews with selected applicants in Closed Session.
5. The Board will appoint the new Sub-District #6 Board member at an Open Meeting as soon as possible.
